Singapore Restaurant Month 2016!

Singapore Restaurant Month is back again this year from 1st July 2016 to 31st July 2016, with a total of 46 participating restaurants, of which 22 are new restaurants. If you remember last year's local produce theme, this year the theme is healthy dining. These 46 restaurants brands introduced 95 healthy dishes.

For the restaurants to qualify, the dishes must contain 500 calories or less and/or at least 8% of each dish must contain wholegrain such as oatmeal, brown rice and wholemeal bread. Super Tang, previously known as Tang Shifu (not an unfamiliar name if you have been to JB's City Square Mall often) opens first outlet out of Malaysia, here in Singapore. I haven't been to JB very often but Souper Tang leaves an impression, maybe its due to my love for soups. There are 18 Souper Tang outlets in Malaysia currently.

Centrepoint underwent a revamp and there are many eateries sprouting at the new wing.

Hello!! Finally I am travelling (as what Cleo said, and she is freaking happy for me, like even more excited than me before I fly). Because work is so bad and hectic that I got no mood at all even the night before I am bound for Bangkok, so much that I even went jogging till late, and leaving with only 2.5 hours of sleep hahah!

I am thankful for this trip and travelling companions, it really keeps my mind off work COMPLETELY for that few days. I am also thankful that I have a no-fuss room partner Hannah, and the more BKK experience dong seangs Jacq & Nikki.

Hannah helped us to communicate a little in thai, and the dong seangs know roughly where to go, keep themselves awake on taxi rides to ensure our safety.

Last Sunday, after lunch we hopped over to Ollella for their pretty and delicate cream puffs.

These pretty little choux are 5cm in diameter, there are also mini choux (3cm diameter) that comes in a platter of 7 for S$21. 

My favourite is Lemon Meringue, the perfect sourish lemon curd and sweet meringue. 

I feel that the Matcha Azuki is not strong enough, I prefer those matcha that is of slightly bitter and stronger in taste. 

Dark chocolate on the other hand is very rich. 

Vanilla is decent and a safe choice. 

Sissy J loves the apple cinnamon which I find that it's pretty good too.

Weeks ago, boss brought us out for Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee! Finally get to try after all the raves but was rather disappointed, it tasted so so, portion is pretty small too. I go easy on the chili, but didn't find it any fantastic either. But I am thankful for the air-conditioned place, which means NO PIGEONS, and not too hot.
