The day the haze started going away

HAZE. This post shall mark the end of July 2013.

Life had been back to normal - pre-haze days. It seems so far away but yet it was only last month that the haze invaded our country.

This also shows how unprepared we were for situations. Any situation may happen. Anything.

We could not bear to stay at home because it is so warm, without air con, but yet we couldn't open the window, it is like ''hello haze, welcome to my house, fog my whole house.''

We have to brave through the haze to go out to take public transport so as to get to work. This is not all.  Even the office is not excused. Haze is everywhere. The most powerful ''natural disaster'' is actually through air. Be it poisonous gas or anything that you can think of.
Months back, there is actually a drill in the office, not fire drill this time round, but is poisonous gas drill. For a moment I thought it was for real as nobody informed us anything about it and the announcement went like ''we have detected an unknown gas in the compound, please seal up all the windows/doors/openings, remain calm and wait for further instructions.''

I am not saying this is a big deal or no big deal, but through this situation, I realised everyone has to be prepared anyway, for anything to happen, like for an example stocking up N95 at home LOL! Well, I am serious though, and yes I stocked up about 20-30 N95 for my family ad maybe friends, just in case.

And I just want to say when you wear N95 and surgical mask, you will find surgical masks are as good as not wearing. N95 really blocked out 90% of the smell.

Anyway, pictures on the first day I find that the skies is clearer, so I actually went out for a walk!

Its as if seeing the whole town coming to life! Hippo bus came out to play too!

This, is normal to us now. But this was really heartwarming and bring tears to my eyes because we hardly see the sky last month.

NDP rehearsal was supposed to be cancelled. I guess that they saw that the weather is good so they had a rehearsal (with fireworks!)

Still a little hazy, but heck! I sat outdoor for hours!

The sun is like what you see in the pic. Even sun is not shining at its brightest.

I guess everyone is feeling as happy as I am. :D

Top is on hazier days. Bottom is the 1st better night when the haze left us.

Appreciating every single thing/people in my life right now.

No edit, and look at how beautiful this is.

K went 'crazy' and ordered all these on a hot weekday afternoon, for the both of us.

K: ''How many types of bread you have?''
Auntie: ''4 types, toasr, french toast, thin toast, steamed toast''
K: ''ok, 1 each.''

O.O Thank you. You know I love food.

 photo file_zps280d1296.jpg

Steamed. I had a better steamed toast before, so I find this rather hard & drying.

Go to Hill Street Coffeeshop for a better steam toast. They steamed their bread in dim sum ''longs'' so we guessed thats better as the bread get FULLY STEAMED, instead of putting this plate into the bao steamer.

Mu Parlor

 photo file_zps653aed3c.jpg

Wanted to skip blogging about this but it is too good to be missed!

Took leave on a weekday and decided to come to this quaint cafe at Holland Village.

I really love the deco, cakes, peacefulness. Sat by the window, people and car watch, while relaxing there with loved one. This is LOVE.

I shall let pictures do the talking.

Randoms: What I am doing now.

 photo file_zpse5d48d58.jpg

Hello! Its been very long again!

Having bird nest while working on a food notebook that I had just started to keep. 1.5 year of eating/cafe hopping. I feel satisfied but of course weight gain is horrible.

 photo file_zps2f7eeae1.jpg

Downloaded a new app and redeemed a free ice milk tea/coffee!

Be back soon. I have lots to do!

I bought a Macbook so that it can keep me company when i come home from work but i was seldom home. :P I chucked it aside, and finally my phone's memory is full and couldn't take anymore pictures, i rigged out my Macbook and realised the battery is drained out. :X thats how bad, and that how a badass i am.  Finally cleared 3 GB of photos out from my phone.

Good night and will blog soon. SOON, i hope.

The Ship

 photo file_zps12266403.jpg

 photo file_zps76ced52b.jpg

Met up with an ex colleague after sooooo many years! (More than 5 years)

She suggested The Ship. Above is the Menu.

Service was damn bad! Pestering us to order, pestering us to quickly finish our meals.

For 2 friends who had not met for years, we sure have lots to talk about. Its a quiet evening with no long queues outside the restaurant, but yet they are so irritating. Can't wait to bring us the bill and act like they are closing soon but yet there are still customers who just came in to dine, have not even place their order. I would not want to go back again. I don't waste my money on so-so food, and bad service.

The usual Clam Chowder.

I love how The Soup Spoon had special/limited period soup so that we don't get sick of their usual soups!
