Good news!!!

Din Tai Fung's Steamed Chili Crab Xiao Long Bao S$7.50/4 pieces are back by popular demand again, for a limited time only (1st July 20104 till 31st August 2014)!

They were first introduced in 2007.



Fresh crabmeat and a spicy chill crab-based broth in a thin skin pleated with their signature 18 folds, what makes it better is that they are 40% larger than the steamed pork xiao long bao.





The sweet-juicy Chili Crab Xiao Long Bao burst into our mouths after our first bite and leaves us wanting more! Go grab them now, if not you will have to wait till next year!

Of course apart from the Crab Xiao Long Bao, we also had their signatures :P

Spicy Hot & Sour Soup (Small) S$6 - they now comes in Original & Spicy, for those who don't take spicy can opt for the original!

K brought me to explore into Chip Bee Gardens on a weekday evening, a day before our rest day :P

Happy girl is me. Although I wasn't feeling too well, feel weak plus a flu coming up but still trying to control and bring it down. So desserts might be the best solution.

Sunday Folks is brought to you by the folks from Creamier, and its a much spacious cafe here, very beautifully set up, perfect for a hot sunny afternoon. However the ice cream is soft serve instead. And if you are expecting many flavours available, I think you will be disappointed. There are only 6 flavours currently: Summer Strawberries, Roasted Pistachio, Seasalt Gula Melaka, Dark Chocolate, Madagascar Vanilla & Earl Grey Lavender.

K wanted Earl Grey Lavender, I insist to choose Seasalt Gula Melaka, I win of course.





Waffles paired with freshly churned Seasalt Gula Melaka S$10.50
It comes with a little bit of fruits, maple syrup & chocolate hazelnut sauce.

They have some standard & premium toppings, so I topped up a premium Nama Chocolate S$1.90.
Standard toppings will be S$1.50.

I don't know if its my taste bud that is affecting the taste, or its the soft serve or its the flavour, but this Seasalt Gula Melaka is not to my liking.

Maybe other flavours might taste better. I will go back to try my favourite Earl Grey!





I also ordered a slice of Matcha Cake S$7.90, it is soft and fresh (because I ordered the first slice from the whole cake), most importantly not dry.



It was almost full house at 6.40pm.

On a very hot afternoon, we went to ERP to have fruits. :P You will never miss the shop as it resembles our ERP as well as our road names signage.



Even the interior of the shop is drawn with yellow lines and yellow boxes on the floor



as well as our famous Merlion, MBS, Singapore Flyer on the wall.

As I said it was a hot afternoon, the whole shop is like a mini sauna. Even the drinks don't feel very icy cold.

Prices above were just an estimated price as we were not issued a receipt. The only price we are confirmed is Strawberry Milkshake.



Ice cream melted too quickly. The waffles is surprisingly good. After disappointments from a few waffles place, I don't expect ERP to serve nice waffles, however it is up to standard and best of all, mango is sweet! They have savoury waffles too, do check them out.

A few weekends ago, we went to the Kindness Cafe. As you can see above, be kind and you can get coffee at cheaper prices. They serve jewel coffee!

People who are queuing up are indeed kinder. Those potential ''pattern'' for ''cut-queuers'' did not cut queue. *thumbs up*

Drink Tea (Bubble Tea Shop at the basement of NEX mall) had renovated and even changed name, layout is almost the same though. They are called Tea Tree Cafe now.

Not a cafe for you to sit and chill, its still that takeaway counter.

Anyway, potted desserts are getting popular these days, everyone is going for appearance and the same rules applies when choosing a dessert.



Tea Tree Oreo S$4.90 is filled with vanilla ice cream, coconut jelly, yogurt jelly & crushed oreo bits, and it had popping candies too.

I find it quite expensive and only can takeaway, so no matter what, the ice cream would have melted a bit once you find a place to sit down and enjoy your dessert treat.

Recently there is this trend of converting old shops into cafes. You must have heard of Tian Kee & Co, as well as Sin Lee Foods.

Some of the food they served is Shakshuka, Brioche sandwiches & waffles.

Since they have quite a few waffles on the list, we go for the waffles.

The lady beside us was eating the savoury Fried Chicken on Waffles, it looks really tempting.

The waffles look perfectly smooth, smoother than my face.

At first bite, K asked me if this is not fully cooked as it was quite ''moist'' inside.
To me, its cripsy on the outside, but its like mee jiang kueh inside, you know the feel of a moist pancake like.

(Have you tried Common Man's Churros? Its like moist inside, it almost like that)

And it falls short of the typical waffles fragrance. The sauce is (in our opinion) hershey's sauce + maple syrup.

The ice cream… hmmm does Hokkaido Ice Cream taste like this? Vanilla Ice Cream in general, taste much much better.

Headed to yet another new cafe at CBD!

Its one for one for the first few days (its already over, sorry). Coffee was quite strong in taste. Strong coffee always caused a tingling feel in my nose.

With this, I feel better. My body is severely immune to caffeine, that immediately after a cup of coffee, I will doze off.

Taking over the space of HMV or Gramophone (if i remember correctly) at The Cathay.

The Assembly Store & The Assembly Ground moved in to The Cathay! Glad to say its quite a big cafe, yay to cafe hoppers. Moreover Kki Sweets is going to open nearby!

The Assembly Ground serves coffee from Nylon & Common Man!
