Ollella @ Petain Road
| Address: | 3 Petain Road #01-01 Residences@Somme Singapore 208108 |
| Website: | http://chouquette.sg |
Last Sunday, after lunch we hopped over to Ollella for their pretty and delicate cream puffs.
The only time we can "hi can we get 1 of each?" Is when we get together 👫👭👸🏻
Tiramisu S$5
Matcha Azuki S$4.50
Apple Cinnamon S$4
Dark Chocolate S$4.50
Raspberry S$5
Lemon Meringue S$4
Vanilla S$4
These pretty little choux are 5cm in diameter, there are also mini choux (3cm diameter) that comes in a platter of 7 for S$21.
My favourite is Lemon Meringue, the perfect sourish lemon curd and sweet meringue.
I feel that the Matcha Azuki is not strong enough, I prefer those matcha that is of slightly bitter and stronger in taste.
Dark chocolate on the other hand is very rich.
Vanilla is decent and a safe choice.
Sissy J loves the apple cinnamon which I find that it's pretty good too.

Using top quality ingredients for its fruit and milk-based ice pops, there is no added preservatives or colourings in them and they are all handcrafted by an ice pop artist in small batches so no ice pops are alike. Freezing of the ice pops only takes 20 to 30 minutes by a quick-freeze method, which results in extremely fine crystals and a feathery snow-like texture.

Ending September with a sweet post! Now comes the dreadful October, I hope it will be over in no time. October is suppose to be the month where I wear my bridal gown, walking down the aisle with my husband and everything is supposed to be as magical as ever, however it is not going to happen. October is also a month where so many people are getting married, I will just have to endure, and look through the beautiful happily-ever-after pictures of my friends', and of course giving them my blessings even though nothing works out for me.
Back to food!
I have been seeing lots of this pretty eclairs pictures all over my instagram. Ian, Pauline, Shirley and I wanted to come here on Polling day but it was closed, so finally we came here on a lovely Sunday afternoon.

ICED LATTE S$6.50
Every iced milk drinks come with ice cream, so do let them know if you prefer not to have ice cream. Of course we want ours with ice cream!
It is pretty good, only downside is that its such a small glass for S$6.50.
GREEN TEA LATTE S$5.50
Bought this off Sugar App at S$1.40! Out of the 3 times here at The Assembly Ground, I think I could conclude that the Green Tea Latte here is rather inconsistent. All 3 times tasted different. The sweetness & bitterness tasted different for all 3 times.
RAINBOW CAKE S$8.90
I know rainbow cakes are only aesthetics to the eyes, but i couldn't resist ordering one. It is tall and beautiful.

Mariette Frozen Halal Tea Cakes @ Supermarkets
Mariette Frozen Tea Cakes (Halal)
Available at selected Fairprice stores, Cold Storage and Giant Supermarkets
Fancy having lava cakes at the comfort of your home or throwing a tea-party but no time to cake some cakes? Now you can do it conveniently without hazzle!
Auric Pacific launches Mariette Tea Cakes and that includes chocolate lava cakes! The first microwavable molten lava cakes in Singapore!
Auric Pacific Group also owns reputable brands like SCS, Sunshine, Gourmet and Buttercup.
We were at Medzs Millennia Walk to celebrate the launch, and celebration includes trying out all the 4 cakes and bringing all of them home too!
4 cakes were rolled out this October, they are Molten Lava Cakes, Double Chocolate Cakes, Orange Tea Cakes & Salted Caramel Cakes.
All the 4 cakes are trans-fat free, no preservatives, Halal certified and retailing at S$7.90 at selected Supermarkets. I saw it selling at S$8+ at Cold Storage though.
SALTED CARAMEL TEA CAKE WITH WALNUTS
This is my personal favourite among the 4!
An indulgent and heavenly salted caramel cake with crunchy walnuts that promises to pamper every palate.
Perfect as an ultimate all time dessert, drizzle with hot caramel sauce to elevate the gourmet experience.
As the cakes are frozen, slice the cake into portions required, store the remaining frozen portions back in the freezer immediately.
Take out the desired portions you need, thaw it at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Once defrosted, keep product chilled in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
ORANGE TEA CAKE WITH ORANGE PEEL
This cake is tender and full of refreshing flavour with a tangy twist of orange citrus peel.
Flavourful when eaten on its own, this Orange Tea Cake also taste great with milk chocolate buttercream or creamy lemon buttercream. Delicious and light on the taste buds, its truly a classic.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE TEA CAKE
My brother's & K's favourite!!
A decadently indulgent and luxurious chocolate cake with loads of dark chocolate chips goodness.
Rich & delicious on its own but if you would like, you can top your cake with some vanilla ice cream or drizzle your cake with hot chocolate sauce. Perfect for the sweet end of your dinner party.
I don't know if you can tell by this picture, how soft is this tea cake :X But I can tell you, it is very soft and chocolatey!
This is what I did at home!
MINI CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE
Although it is mini, the size is just right, in my opinion.
This rich and mouth-watering mini chocolate lava cake with warm chocolate filling is the ultimate chocolate indulgence.
A box contains 4 of these.
Heat each cake in the microwave oven for just 15 seconds and you will get a flowing lava cake! It really flows ok! No joke.
COMPETITION - DESIGNING OUR OWN CAKES!
Then before we end the tea party, we were told to decorate our own tea cakes! Thats very fun, I love plating, no matter nor sucky it turns out all the time.
My final product!
All 3 flavours of the cake (except lava cake)
These are some of the creations by the other bloggers.
Thank you Auric Pacific for having me at the party and lugging home boxes of cakes to enjoy with my family!

Coloured Burgers at Eggs & Berries @ Jurong Point
Eggs & Berries
Address: 1 Jurong West Central 2 Jurong Point 1 #01-32 Singapore 648886
Tel: +65 67909195
I guess Eggs & Berries is not a new name to you already. Famous for its eggs dishes!
Brought my friends there to the Changi Point outlet, they commented ''All dishes have eggs''. Of course, they are Eggs & Berries. :P

This time round, we went to the Jurong Point's newly opened Eggs & Berries. They are located right beside Mcdonalds and heard that they took over Delifrance.

Had always love the clean & cheerful layout of the restaurant.

Breads, cakes & puddings on display! They also have breads selling at Changi City Point's outlet!

DRINKS

NUTS ABOUT? S$6.50
Chocolate, 3 types of nuts, vanilla. Expect this to taste like richer, but not exactly.

STRAWBERRY MANGO TEA S$5.90

It actually didn't taste quite like a mint drink, its more like teadox.

GREEN MOUNTAIN BEE S$6.50
Avocado, bee pollen, vanilla. Its creamy and not too sweet.

SWEET GROOVY MANGO S$6.50
The first glass tasted a little weird, thank god they changed 1 for us, and it taste much much better.

GINGER FIZZ S$5.90
Not much of the fizz there, not much of ginger taste too, actually it tasted like fruit juice stall's fruit juice, with previous celery, oranges remains.
I would say I am not impress with the drinks, thankfully the food made up for them.
FOOD

TRUFFLE & MUSHROOM S$9.90
E&B Fries seasoned with sea salt, home-made mushroom powder, parmesan cheese and truffle oil.
Quite an interesting dish of fries, unlike other truffle fries out there. Worth a try!

CAESAR SALAD S$9.90
The only salad in the menu so Reina & myself have to try! :P
So here is actually the main reason what brought us here.
BURGERS!!
They have 4 different burgers, beef, lamb, pork, chicken. And best of all… You can choose from 4 different colour buns to go with your patty!
Fret not, the buns are made with all natural ingredients and thus they are brimming with flavours & goodness.

PROVENCE HERBS LAMB S$13.90 (in Turmeric Curry Bun - yellow)
Herbs marinated lamb patty, topped with sunny side up crispy bacons and pickles. Served with potato wedges and mixed greens.
Know the meaning of divine pairing with this burger. The aromatic herb-marinated lamb patty is enlivened by unctuous strips of crispy bacon.
Lamb patty was pretty good and not smelly. The yummiest bun out of the 4, can taste the curry flavour and it helps achieve good skin.

And of course every burger comes with egg! YUMS.

PORK & SAGE with PAPRIKA S$12.90 (in Smoked Paprika & Beetroot bun - pink)
Spicy sage & smoked paprika infused pork patty, topped with sunny side up, onions, tomatoes and pickles. Served with potato wedges and mixed greens.
This offering impresses with a spicy sage and smoked paprika-infused pork patty. The peppery paprika marries with the spiciness of the sage to bring an explosion of flavours.
This pretty pink bun helps manage blood pressure.

CAJUN SPICED CHICKEN S$12.90 (in Spinach Pesto bun - green)
Grilled gourmet chicken patty infused with spicy cajun seasoning, topped with sunny side up, cheddar cheese and pickles. Serve with potato wedges and mixed greens.
This is the burger that will quell hankerings for spicy food. The thick chicken patty is punctuated by spicy Cajun seasoning. The sharp taste of the creamy cheddar cheese adds an extra oomph.
This spinach pesto bun helps nourishes the eyes and bones.

E&B Beef & Egg Burger S$13.90 (in original bun)
14 days aged beef patty, topped with sunny side up, onions, tomatoes and pickles. SErved with potato wedges and mixed greens.
Original bun is the energy booster!
The burger I had at Changi CIty Point was much better than the one here tonight.

The same beef burger in pink bun, as they had run out of Charcoal Bun.

Eggs & Berries Eggs Benedict Doppio S$16.90
2 poached eggs, english muffins, bacons honey ham and hash brown.

Love the fact that every egg flows! No disappointing egg porn here!

EGG & MUSHROOMS S$16.90
Sunny Side up, button and shitake mushrooms, toasted brioche, hash brown & mixed greens.

AGLIO OLIO KING RIVER PRAWN S$19.90
Aglio Olio pasta, served with king river prawn, wild mushrooms, onions, bacons and melted cheese, topped with poached egg.
The actual thing comes slightly different from the picture in the menu :(
The prawn is a little too course, and not too fresh.
DESSERTS

MANGO TANGO S$10.90
Mago, macadamia nuts and chocolate chips with rainbow sprinkles topped with whipped cream.

OVER THE RAINBOW S$15
Medley of fresh fruits, gooseberry with whipped cream.
Overall, I feel that the desserts tonight are not impressive. Stick with the mains! Cant wait to try them all!
Thank you Eggs & Berries for having us! The service that night was great.
