Sugar App

Several weeks back, sista Eileen introduced an awesome app to us. Its the Sugar app.

The app will load places (ranging from restaurants to cafes to lifestyle stores) & items near where you are, then you can choose to bring down the price of the item (the app calls this ''skimming'').

You can only skim the item once a day and each skim will bring down the price y S$0.20 to S$0.50.

There is always a minimum price, so you cannot skim until S$0.00 ok? So far, from what I see, the minimum price is S$1. Imagine S$1 for a cup of coffee at a cafe! Its very very very cheap!

However, some items get sold out real fast so they might not even hit the minimum price before they get sold out.

And one thing you have to note is that once you buy the items, you have to redeem in 7 days.

PSST! Once you downloaded and register for an account, you will be given S$10 credit! How nice!

So my first redemption on my Sugar App is Berry-Go-Round S$1, managed to purchase at its minimum price. YAY!

And its very yummy, taste like grape yakult in a bigger cup!

I couldn't find this on their menu so I don't know how much is the exact price. But I believed I have saved a few dollars!

And upon signing up, I have a credit of S$10, so theoretically my yogurt drink is free!

Glacier Yogurt is a small self-service cafe with maybe only 12 seaters located at the basement of the new Orchard Gateway.

Can't wait to redeem more items!

Qun Zhong Eating House - Xiaolongbao, MBS, Ichiban Sushi

Off to Qun Zhong Eating House for lunch!
The restaurant don't accept reservations so you have to go there early to queue. I reached there at 12pm and there is about 3 groups of people in front of us, but its just happened that when it is our turn, we waited for quite some time :(
So by the time we get seated and food is served, it is about 12.40pm. Famished.

Qun Zhong has re-opened for business on 9th February 2012 after months of renovation! Yay! I got to know this restaurant before f the very long queue! Then I heard from my colleague that there is this restaurant that serve very nice xiao long bao, always long queue, and only accept CASH. I think it should be Qun Zhong, so i got to try!

Menu is in chinese, english & japanese, and I noticed 50% of the cutomers there are Japanese! How cool!

Chinese tea SGD$1 per pax, towel SGD$0.60, peanuts SGD$1 are served automatically. There is a can of ginger on the table with vinegar and such, and there is this on the menu that says ''extra can of sliced ginger SGD$3'' WOW. Eat so much?
Hot & sour soup SGD$3 - portion just nice to share between 2 person and it is very appetizing and yummy! Try if you like hot & sour soup!
I am not really a fan of gyoza, guo tie, because of the porky kind of taste but I want to say, this is also a must try!
Pan-fried minced seafood & pork dumpling SGD$10 for 8 pieces. It is sweet and the pan-fried kind of taste, with the cripsyness of the skin is awesome! I ate a lot of these! Normally I will only take 2 gyozas or guo ties, but this is really good stuff.
There is also a boiled version (it stated boiled instead of steamed in the menu), sounds healthy yea?
Little juicy steamed dumplings/xiao long bao SGD$7 for 7 pieces.
We order 1 portion and the China waitress told us that we can order more because we got to wait for quite a while if we place our order again, there is bascially nothing much in the menu (except noodles and a chinese pizza that we did not order), the rest are all almost the same, pan-fried/boil dumpling, vegetarian dumplings, so we order another portion of steamed dumplings/xiao long bao trusting that it should be good. Looking at the constant long queue, and this shop had been around for many many many years.
Yummy!
There are 3 types of chinese pancakes (desserts), Red Bean, Lotus Seed Paste, and Yam Paste. We chose the traditional Red Bean Paste Pancake SGD$9, quite expensive right? We were too full and can only eat half of it.

After I grown up, and had tried more Japanese restaurants, Sushi Tei, Ichiban, etc, I really find that Sakae Sushi's sushi sucks real badly. I wonder how did I managed to collect those $300? worth of receipts within a few months in order to get the membership o.o!
During my Poly days, I always head to Sakae buffet (3-6pm?) with Poly mates. To think that my daily allowance is only SGD$5!

Gyoza.

Had my usual Cha Soba.

Expo Food Fair!

29TH MAY 2012 TUESDAY
This post shall end my May posts!
Decked in a new romper from Ru to Expo Food Fair!

Some healthy food first.
Trying out udon from the new japanese stall in the canteen!

At the food fair:

Custard buns! But not nice at all.

Yeeks, compare this to the Victor's Kitchen one that I had, a few days ago.
Chawanmushi using Cordyceps egg.
Chocolate Lava Cake!

Creme Brulee!!

Bought some red bean dumplings for mummy.
Tuna, chilli sauce!
Sausages! OMG I have to say these are the best sausages you can find in supermarket. Be it you pan fry, or boil, or have it for steamboat, the skin is still crunchy!
This brand is under Tay's brand (the seaweed chicken brand!)
Mummy steamed one dumpling immediately after I got home!

30TH MAY 2012 WEDNESDAY

Red Bean dumpling &
strawberry swiss roll for breakfast!
Ice Milo ga dai (extra condensed milk)!
Took urgent leave today as mummy is feeling very very giddy with slightly high high-blood pressure.
So I took care of her, brought her to the doctor and bought food for her.
And I did some household chores, its my first time operating the washing machine. :O

Cooked some rice, went out and got us dinner! Thought that it would be a quick one, so I did not bring any brolly and OMG horror, it was raining cats & dogs when I was done with my buyings. So I bought another brolly from Giordano. Sucks. I did not close the windows, and left mm sleeping at home, and I am stranded at Eastpoint!
The luggage I bought from Taka Fair is here a few days ago! Finally took a picture of it. Half my height! It weighs about 5-5.5kg, I thought it is rather heavy already...
and lover got a 11kg luggage , OMG DAFUQ?! 11kg luggage? Means cannot go shopping already. Sure will exceed the weight limit for the airline. o.o

31ST MAY 2012 THURSDAY
Back to work!

Peanut butter swiss rolls.
Oreo Cappucino!
Yogurt. All these for breakfast!

Yakitori!
Its been so long since I had cheesecake from Fiesta!
YUMMY!! Soft & FLUFFY!

Headed for IPL!
Lying on bed, also have to camwhore a little!
Went for a haircut at Hairsecrets - which I don't like. Hairdressers who never listen to what customers want, sucks badly. And why do I keep meeting such hairdressers?
Shopping at Watsons!
Bought a hair serum & the deep cleansing shampoo from TSUBAKI, hope that they are good!

Ok, Finally completed this long post! Will continue with June, hopefully tomorrow!
